Dr. Baker’s focus is on providing comprehensive dental care with an emphasis on prevention in a caring and compassionate way. Having undergone significant dental treatment as a child, Dr. Baker knew he wanted to be a dentist as early as the 8th grade. With an interest in science, especially biology, and a naturally caring personality, dentistry was the perfect fit. Dr. Baker graduated from Dalhousie School of Dentistry in 1992 and joined his classmate, Dr. Lucy Lamond at the Dartmouth Dental Centre. Dr. Baker gets a sense of real satisfaction from the work he loves to do and enjoys knowing that he is making a difference in people’s lives. Dr. Baker is active in many professional organizations. He lectures at Dalhousie School of Dentistry teaching Law and Ethics to 4th year dental students. Dr. Baker has served on the Dental Provincial Regulatory Authority for 9 years, serving as the Chairman of that organization for 2 years. He also does regular consulting for the National Dental Examining Board of Canada and the Canadian Commission on Dental Accreditation, and has been inducted into several dental Honor Societies. Dr. Baker and his wife Stephanie have two daughters and a son, and all three kids are busy pursuing professional careers. In what little spare time he has, Dr. Baker enjoys golf and cycling.

Dr. Lucy Lamond enjoys working with patients in the restoration and maintenance of healthy mouths and derives a real satisfaction from working and helping anxious patients. She is fondly known as “Dr. Lucy” by her patients and staff. Growing up in Sydney, Cape Breton, she was fortunate to have a great family dentist – a role model at a time when there were very few women in the profession. Dr. Lamond graduated from Dalhousie University’s School of Dentistry and joined the Dartmouth Dental Centre in 1992 along with classmate Dr. Chris Baker. For Dr. Lamond, dentistry is a great mix of art and science that directly impact the quality of people’s lives. Dr Lamond serves on the Governing Council of the Nova Scotia Dental Association. She is happy to know that she has helped many people overcome their fear of the dentist and reclaim control of their smiles. Now after thirty years, Dr. Lucy feels privileged to have treated multiple generations of the same families. With the opening of the new Dartmouth Dental Centre clinic in Dartmouth Crossing she is excited to continue offering care to her community in a bright new expanded facility. Dr. Lucy is married and has adult twin daughters. When not working in the clinic, you will find her and her husband hopping on a plane to foreign destinations or camping at the beach in PEI.

Dr. Bueckert graduated from Dalhousie School of Dentistry in 1992, along with Dr. Lamond and Dr. Baker. She spent most of her professional career practising in Calgary AB, and prior to that she practised in Portland ME and Fredericton NB. Since coming home to Nova Scotia, she has started teaching part-time at Dalhousie. She is involved with the first-year students in pre-clinical studies, and is also clinical instructor working with the third year students and their patients. Dr. Bueckert has a special interest in esthetic dentistry and has completed all levels of Bioclear Certification. She also is trained to provide both esthetic and TMJ neuromodulator treatment. Dr Bueckert has 2 grown children. She enjoys long distance running and has completed 10 marathons and numerous half-marathons all over North America.

Dr Young, born and raised in Dartmouth, graduated from Dalhousie Dentistry, class of 2022 and joined Dartmouth Dental that same year. Through her studies she participated in many extracurricular ventures including the Dental Public Health Elective, the student executive, and various committees. She received multiple awards, including the Bill McGinnis scholarship; awarded to a dentistry graduate who inspires trust, confidence, optimism, and enthusiasm in their dental colleagues by combining outstanding qualities of skills and personal character. From a lifelong patient to new practitioner and colleague she found mentorship and inspiration in seeing how the Dartmouth Dental team cares for its community and hopes to bring that same energy in her daily practice. Dr Young is passionate about patient centred care and brings a kind and compassionate hand to patients of all ages. Her focus is general dentistry and prevention. She hopes to ease the burden of dental anxiety and optimize oral health for all her patients. In her down time Dr. Young enjoys spending time outdoors with her golden retriever Rosie. She also enjoys her time with family and friends, hiking, reading, and crafting.

Dr. Erin Pegg takes pride in her work and enjoys helping nervous and anxious patients become more comfortable in the dental setting and therefore helping restore their oral health and confidence. She enjoys the problem-solving nature and artistry of dentistry and strives to provide a comfortable and educational environment while optimizing patients’ oral health care needs. Dr. Pegg has been a part of the Dartmouth Dental family for many years. She first attended as a young patient with her family. She developed an interest in dentistry at a very young age. Dr. Lucy would send Erin’s mom home with masks and gloves for Erin to play with. As she got older, she had a serious interest in the profession, so she would visit the practice to observe our dentists and staff to make sure this was the right fit for her and the rest is history. Dr. Pegg attended St. Francis Xavier University and graduated with a BSc in Human Kinetics in 2010. She then attended Dalhousie School of Dentistry, graduating in 2014. She started with Dartmouth Dental Centre in June of 2014. Dr. Pegg grew up and resides in Dartmouth with her husband Devin and their beautiful young son and daughter. Her husbands job brought them briefly to Regina, but they are so happy to be back in the city they love. When she is not at the office she values and enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and getting outside.
