At Dartmouth Dental Centre, we provide tooth extraction and root canal therapy to Dartmouth residents. We understand that damaged or decayed teeth and gums can cause you pain and discomfort. We’ll do our best to restore your oral health.
If your tooth has suffered extensive damage or decay, it will have to be extracted in order to reduce pain and to seal it from further injuries. When we remove your tooth, we are very careful and safe in order to prevent the surrounding bone and soft tissue from being damaged. You can opt to get a dental implant to replace the extracted tooth. In order to keep you comfortable during the extraction procedure, our oral surgeon, Dr. Brian Smith, can provide IV sedation.
Root Canals (Endodontics)
When the innermost layer of the tooth (the pulp) has been irreversibly damaged due to trauma, accidents, or decay, root canal therapy is necessary to save the tooth. Without the extraction, the surrounding area may get infected and cause further damage. These infections may or may not be immediately painful, but do require treatment.
Our dentist will clean and disinfect the inner infected layer of the tooth, then fill the root canal space in order to successfully restore the tooth. If you require a root canal, we will make sure to keep you comfortable during the procedure.
