COVID-19 Protocols at Our Clinic in Dartmouth, NS
Dear Dartmouth Dental Centre Patients:
We are pleased that our office has fully reopened for treatment.
Our office will have a new look with many structural changes to adhere to the protocol put in place by the Provincial Dental Board and authorized by Dr. Strang and the Provincial Health Authority.
Please remember to follow the Government of Canada's social distancing recommendations when visiting our clinic. Please stand 6 feet apart and wear a mask in the clinic reception area. Only remove your mask when instructed by staff. We also have hand sanitizer available at reception.
We are fully compliant and committed to the infection control procedures as set by the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia (PDBNS), the Nova Scotia Dental Association (NSDA) and the Canadian Dental Association (CDA).
We are fully committed to following all guidelines that the Nova Scotia Health Authority and Public Health advises and as such, we will continue to update our protocols and procedures regarding COVID-19.
Pre-screening for COVID-19 prior to your visit via call, text or email and again, once you arrive at the office.
We encourage patients to arrange appointments over the phone and by email. We ask that patients do not come to the office to book appointments.
Our waiting room is closed. We ask you to text us at 902-701-9409 when you arrive. When we are ready for you, you will be texted that you can come into the clinic where a member of our staff will ask you COVID-19 screening questions again.
Magazines and toys have been removed from the waiting room.
As required by the province, you MUST wear a mask at all times while you are in the clinic until you are directed to remove your mask once you are in the dental chair.
We ask that you come to your appointment alone, however, 1 parent/caregiver may accompany a child.
Hand sanitizer will be provided when you arrive.
We are limiting the number of patients in the office at one time and staggering appointments.
All common areas are cleaned and sanitized frequently throughout the day.
Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn by clinical and reception staff.
All staff are screened daily for COVID-19 symptoms.
There are enhanced operatory disinfection procedures of all surfaces between patients.
Between patients, the room is cleaned and disinfected, and surface barriers are replaced.
High touch surfaces throughout the office are wiped down regularly.
During treatment, our team strictly follows the guidelines set out by the PDBNS, the NSDA, the Nova Scotia Health Authority and Public Health.
The health and safety of our patients and staff have always been our top priority.
