Our Team
At Dartmouth Dental Centre, you will be cared for and treated with respect. Our dentists consisting of Dr. Chris Baker, Dr. Lucy Lamond, Dr. Patricia Bueckert & Dr. Amy C. Young, along with our dental team are known for maintaining long-term relationships with their patients. We love what we do and it shows!
Dr. Christopher A. Baker – aka “Dr. Chris”
Dentist
Dr. Baker graduated from Dalhousie University’s School of Dentistry in 1992 and joined the Dartmouth Dental Centre along with classmate Dr. Lucy.
Dr. Baker is married with three adult children. When he’s not in the clinic, you’ll find him being bossed around by his children. You may just find him recharging the batteries at the golf course on PEI.
Dr. Baker embraces comprehensive dental care with an emphasis on prevention. Having undergone significant dental treatment as a child, Dr. Baker knew he wanted to be a dentist as early as the eighth grade. With an interest in science, especially biology, and a naturally caring personality, dentistry was the perfect fit.
After over 30 years serving the needs of patients at Dartmouth Dental Centre, Dr. Baker gets a sense of real satisfaction from the work he loves to do: “It’s great to see the smiles as people come and go, and know that in some way I’ve made a difference,” he says.
Dr. Lucy C. Lamond – aka “Dr. Lucy”
Dentist
Dr. Lamond graduated from Dalhousie University’s School of Dentistry and joined the Dartmouth Dental Centre in 1992 along with classmate Dr. Chris.
Dr. Lucy is married and has twin daughters. When not working in the clinic, she and her family love taking to the open road in an RV.
She enjoys working with patients in the restoration and maintenance of healthy mouths, and derives real satisfaction from working and helping anxious patients.
Growing up in Sydney, Cape Breton, Dr. Lamond was fortunate to have a great family dentist – she was a role model at a time when there were few women in the profession. For Dr. Lucy, dentistry is a great mix of art and science that directly impacts people’s lives. She is happy to know that she has helped many people overcome their fear of the dentist and reclaim control of their smiles. “I’ve heard it said the when you love what you do you never work a day in your life – I have been so blessed,” she says.
