Dr. Christopher A. Baker – aka “Dr. Chris”
Dr. Baker graduated from Dalhousie University’s School of Dentistry in 1992 and joined the Dartmouth Dental Centre along with classmate Dr. Lucy.
Dr. Baker is married with three children. When he’s not in the clinic, you’ll find him being bossed around by his very active children. You may just find him recharging the batteries at the golf course on PEI.
Dr. Baker embraces comprehensive dental care with an emphasis on prevention. Having undergone significant dental treatment as a child, Dr. Baker knew he wanted to be a dentist as early as the eighth grade. With an interest in science, especially biology, and a naturally caring personality, dentistry was the perfect fit.
After nearly 20 years serving the needs of patients at Dartmouth Dental Centre, Dr. Baker gets a sense of real satisfaction from the work he loves to do: “It’s great to see the smiles as people come and go, and know that in some way I’ve made a difference,” he says.
Dr. Lucy C. Lamond – aka “Dr. Lucy”
Dr. Lamond graduated from Dalhousie University’s School of Dentistry and joined the Dartmouth Dental Centre in 1992 along with classmate Dr. Chris.
Dr. Lucy is married and has twin daughters. When not working in the clinic, she and her family love taking to the open road in an RV.
She enjoys working with patients in the restoration and maintenance of healthy mouths, and derives real satisfaction from working and helping anxious patients.
Growing up in Sydney, Cape Breton, Dr. Lamond was fortunate to have a great family dentist – she was a role model at a time when there were few women in the profession. For Dr. Lucy, dentistry is a great mix of art and science that directly impacts people’s lives. She is happy to know that she has helped many people overcome their fear of the dentist and reclaim control of their smiles. “I’ve heard it said the when you love what you do you never work a day in your life – I have been so blessed,” she says.
Dr. Erin Pegg – aka “Dr. Erin”
Dr. Erin Pegg graduated from Dalhousie University’s School of Dentistry in 2014 and officially joined the Dartmouth Dental Centre team in June of that year.
Dr. Erin has been part of the Dartmouth Dental family first as a young patient of the practice with her family. She has had an interest in dentistry since the young age of 7. Dr. Lucy would send Erin’s mom home with masks and gloves for Erin to play dentist with. As Erin got older she had a serious interest in the profession, so she would visit the practice to observe our dentists and staff to make sure this was the right fit for her and the rest is history.
Dr. Pegg enjoys helping nervous/anxious patients become more comfortable with dentistry and therefore helping restore their oral health. She enjoys the art and problem-solving nature of dentistry; pain relief as well as educating patients about the importance of oral health.
Dr. Pegg grew up in Dartmouth and resides here with her husband and their dog, “Finn”. When not at the practice, she enjoys spending time with her family, being outside and active.
